C.H. Becker, aka Malate, began as an infosec and hacker hobbyist in the days of dial-up BBSes. This began a lifelong passion for information security and exploring the limits of technology as well as the human element of security.

With a further background in philosophy, psychology, and more Malate has been invited to speak professionally at conferences, meetups, universities, and more on a wide array of topics from information security, the Trickster archetype in speculative fiction, the history and science of absinthe, surveillance technology, ethics, to personal growth and development, and beyond.

A passion for knowledge sharing and community development drive these talks and Malate’s engagement with disparate audiences through them.
