Zach Miller is a CISSP and security engineer at Bluestaq where the job is keeping large, fast-moving technology stacks compliant without letting compliance become the ceiling. He has spent his career crossing environments most people pick one of: consumer technology at Apple, managed services, educational IT, and satellite communications programs at the defense contractor level. That breadth taught him to look for failure patterns that specialists miss.

The research in this talk started not at work but in his home lab, where an RF homelab and a Grafana dashboard share space with a Samba AD domain controller and a deliberately broken RHEL 9 target. It is where he stays sharp, stays curious, and occasionally finds something that turns into a submission.
