Struggles of a New Orleans Newbie: Breaking into CyberSecurity

How do you hack into cybersecurity? I had a job that only led to death‚ Hospice Assistant, I needed a change. There was a scam, a phish that flopped and I wanted to know more. My interest peaked. I went to NolaCon. There I learned from Int80 on how to hack AWS. I was hooked and decided I WANT TO TEACH THE LAYMANS!!! I went back to college at Delgado Community College and learned from great professors. I interned with GoLearn Labs & DFRWS and taught punk kids how to use Autopsy. I was cruising but there were setbacks. The challenges weren’t the teenage punk kids. I failed math. TWICE!! And then there were the certification exams. I passed a few and failed some. But I continue to learn and work hard. My goal is to give hope to others entering cyber security and share my lessons learned.
