Protective Security Analyst
Security needs are evolving faster than most companies can adapt. Students will learn to effectively evaluate:
- Physical Barriers- Passive and Active Vehicle Barriers, Perimeter Fences, Pedestrian Gates
- Defensive Lighting- Light Types, Motion Lights, Spacing of Lighting Devices
- Doors- Construction Material, Proper Locking Hardware, Fail Points
- External Intrusion Detection Systems- Fence Sensors, Volumetric Sensors, and Video Sensors
- Internal Intrusion Detection Systems- Windows, Door, Wall, and Volumetric Sensors
- CCTV Considerations- Location, Number, Types of Cameras.
- Access Control- Access Control Personnel, Badging Procedures, Key Control, Anti Tailgating
- Force Protection- Considerations for Armed and Unarmed Guard Forces
- Standard Operating Procedures- Closeout Procedures, Asset Control, Adding and Terminating Employees
For all of the above, you will be exposed to best practice standards and robust variety of adversarial methodologies used to compromise weak targets such as social engineering and the exploitation of weak employee culture. In depth case studies and practical hands on demonstrations will be utilized to solidify the acquisition of knowledge. By the end of this course students will be very prepared to make educated and fiscally responsible security decisions not only for their respective organizations but also for themselves. Additionally these newly minted professionals will now be able to provide sound documentation that may substantially reduce insurance costs for their companies.
Your Instructor:
Robert Pingor is chief of The CORE Group’s Law Enforcement Division. Prior to that he founded Nomad Tactical Solutions. His policing and operations background was honed during his years at the National Security Agency where he served with distinction in four different specialty units. Robert has extensive training in both the government and private sectors. He has instructed for the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the National Security Agency, the United States Air Force, the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, the National Defense University, and countless local law enforcement agencies. Additionally, he regularly conducts trainings for Black Hat, the SANS Institute, and other technical conferences. His work has been featured in Recoil Magazine and the web tv series The Sentinel. Outside of work Robert volunteers for a variety of charities and non-profits. He runs the Future Blue Program, an organization dedicated to developing young people into competent law enforcement professionals, and he trains volunteers to fight childhood sex trafficking.
